A little lifestyle, a little exploration, a little reading, and a lot quirky and authentic!

Writing about whatever is at the top of mind at any given moment.

I'm murph and everything I keep thinking about writing in this intro post belongs on an "About" page, which I have not yet created. Maybe I should have though...

You'll get to know me as I post (and I will get around to that about page) so it is probably better that I chat about what you might find within this blog moving forward. I am not necessarily a "niche" person. As a matter of fact, one of the things I'll likely dive into is neurodiversity, which lies behind my many interests and hobbies and drives me down rabbit holes that keep me busy for hours (or even days) - there's no telling what you'll read about here! I'm an advocate - I believe all humans are worthy of love, respect, and human rights. I will talk about that, likely quite passionately. And when I say all, I mean ALL.

I am a volunteer, mainly for the housing and food insecure, in my community. Volunteering is and has been one of the most fulfilling ways I spend my time. I enjoy working with the groups I choose to work with, meeting new people, learning about different audiences of people, and building community with others.

I've recently started a spiritual journey that is not attached to an organized religion. Struggles, issues, and problems I still have and see with organized religions will come up. However, it will be balanced with the spiritual journey, learning and unlearning, and healing I'm experiencing now. I believe there is beauty and strength in whatever someone chooses to believe ... when they aren't using it to judge, control, or otherwise harm others.

I'm a reader, and as a matter of fact, my first blog was a book review blog and it still exists if you'd like to visit it at: Read, Run, Ramble, though I am not actively posting there any longer. I will likely post any books reviews I do here now, but I'll also post about books I'm reading, interested in reading, or just want to talk about.

I have worked in the corporate space for over two decades, mostly in the learning and development, human resources, and leadership spaces. I am passionate about all three. I'm also passionate about the fact that many, if not most, are getting it WRONG in those fields and a lot needs to be done to improve corporate environments. These things will absolutely show up in posts.

I am not anti-politics. It will come up - I have many things to say about the cornucopia of chaos we currently are experiencing here, and though it will be clear I lean very far a certain way (I'm so far left, I'm practically falling over), I do not prescribe to red vs blue, R vs D, or any of the other divisive labels people use to attack each other.

We'd be here forever if I tried to write about all that may show up here, but I think what I've given you is a very good start/summary to what will begin showing up here.

Three children gaze at a dinosaur skeleton in a museum. Two wear name tags, "Ryan" and "Roberto," showing interest and awe.
Here, in my space, I would love every reader to find their childhood curiosity - open your mind and let it wander/wonder!

All that to say ...

Before you go

So whatdya say? Shall we go on a journey? I'd love to have you along. If you're game, bookmark me so you never lose me and you can check back often and I'll go work on that about page, some social links, and more posts!
